ABOUT US

the jamaican bible is a  not-for-profit joint undertaking that is spearheaded by the Bible Society of the West Indies. 

Our aim is to provide Jamaicans with an accurate the Bible in the language they know best, their heart language.  The translation will be suitable for use in areas such as evangelism, discipleship, individual/group study, recreational listening, youth ministry and broadcasting.

Bible Societies are enthusiastic about Bible translation. At the same time, we do not enter into it lightly— whether we are translating into the world’s major languages such as English or in languages that have only a handful of  poor, illiterate speakers in the back of beyond.
